The PMR President: Moldova waged the war in Pridnestrovie, but Russia finished it

Tiraspol, August 29. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The statement in the textbook “History of the Romanians and General History” that Pridnestrovie together with Russia waged a war in 1992 is a propaganda lie.

“This’s not a history, this’s just a lie, a propaganda lie,” the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized during a traditional press conference on the Republic Day’s eve.

“In fact, that war was started by Moldova. The invasion of Dubossary, provocations in Dubossary, the invasion of Bendery are proof of that. I’ve already spoken about this; I don’t wish to repeat this again. The war was finished with a peace agreement, which was signed, let me remind you, by the President Snegur, President Yeltsin in the presence of Igor Nikolaevich Smirnov, the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. According to this agreement, peacemakers entered here. It was Russia that stopped that war.”

Vadim Krasnoselsky reminded that peacemakers from Pridnestrovie and Moldova are participating in the peacekeeping operation along with Russian military personnel.
