Tiraspol, December 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie is ready for cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Moldova and the PMR, Pridnestrovian president Vadim Krasnoselsky said in an interview with the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
He recalled that between 1999 and 2001, a number of agreements in this area were signed between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. At that time, the fight against crime remained an important area of cooperation between the republics, with information exchange and joint activities organized. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, this practice was quite effective.
"Unfortunately, Chisinau unilaterally terminated all cooperation between law enforcement agencies. The relevant expert (working) group has also not met for over four years," the Pridnestrovian president stated.
The president emphasized that Pridnestrovie expresses its readiness to resume such cooperation between law enforcement agencies. The issue is becoming especially pressing now in connection with the recent incident involving arms and drug trafficking. "We are ready to resume such cooperation; indeed, we insist on it. This is especially relevant given the high-profile events in Moldova related to arms and drug trafficking, some of which, incidentally, was destined for EU countries," Vadim Krasnoselsky concluded.
