Vadim Krasnoselsky: Every plan disregarding the Pridnestrovian residents’ interests is just a waste of time

The PMR President named the Moldovan authorities’ statements about preparing a so-called “reintegration” plan as a sham

Tiraspol, December 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Over the past 35 years, Moldovan officials have repeatedly announced various plans for Pridnestrovie, but each time these have proven to be just a simulation of activity, leading to no real results. This was stated by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky in an interview with RIA Novosti Pridnestrovia, commenting on Moldovan authorities’ statements about preparing a so-called “reintegration plan”.

All these secret plans, invented in some dark chambers without consideration for reality, without reflection of the position as well as interests of the half-million Pridnestrovian people have, as we see, vanished. It’s just a waste of time, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted.

Earlier, the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev, stated that Chisinau was artificially stirring up intrigue around the so-called “reintegration plan” for Pridnestrovie. He described this as Chisinau’s attempt to conceal emptiness that emerged due to Moldova’s blocking of the negotiation process with Pridnestrovie.

It should be reminded that in 1990, the Moldovan authorities declared the Moldavian SSR’s formation, created in 1940 from the territories of Bessarabia (a former Russian province captured by Romania in the year of 1918) and Pridnestrovie (where an autonomous Soviet republic had existed since 1924), illegal. This step granted Pridnestrovians, who disagreed with Chisinau’s discriminatory policies the right to self-determination. Pridnestrovians’ proposals for the establishment of a new common state on a federal basis were rejected by Chisinau. Plans by international negotiators to resolve the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict also failed. Moreover, throughout the three decades of negotiations, the Moldovan authorities have failed to present a single realistic plan for a fair settlement.
